Pale Ale du Nord-Est

Hazy blond ale that shares similarities with its big sister, the New England IPA, but with less pronounced bitterness and lower alcohol content. With its tropical flavors and high drinkability, it will be your perfect summer companion!

The New England Pale Ale is, as mentioned above, a close relative of the New England IPA from the “Collines de Bonne…” series. It is built on a very similar malt and hop bill, with slightly less oats to reduce the beer’s creamy mouthfeel and highlight the crisp, refreshing character expected from a 4.5% ABV Pale Ale.

Since these two beers share such a strong family connection, we chose to represent them with members of the deer family. While the New England IPA proudly features the moose, its little sister, the New England Pale Ale, showcases the white-tailed deer. Smaller in stature yet equally graceful and full of character, it perfectly embodies this Pale Ale.

Today, New England IPAs need little introduction. They have become one of the most popular styles in the craft beer world. These golden beers—sometimes nearly white, hazy or even milky in appearance—often display a cloudy body with tiny hop particles in suspension. They burst with intense fruity aromas, frequently leaning toward tropical fruit, making them a favorite among craft beer enthusiasts looking for juicy, highly aromatic IPAs.

The New England Pale Ale follows a slightly different path: delivering bold flavor with a more approachable alcohol content. Our version lives up to that promise: Great aromas and outstanding flavor, all in a beer with a modest 4.5% ABV. It’s easy-drinking, incredibly refreshing, and wonderfully crisp. Summer is made for playing—let our Collines de Bonne Pale Ale du Nord-Est be your perfect companion.

Although its measured bitterness is roughly 50% lower than that of our New England IPA, the New England Pale Ale actually comes across as sharper and crisper. Its lower alcohol content, reduced oat percentage, and lower residual sugar create a clean, refreshing finish that enhances the perception of bitterness. On the palate, it is bright, clean, and refreshing, with an explosive bouquet of lemon, lychee, and mixed berries, all supported by a firm yet well-balanced backbone of bitterness.

And, once again, this refreshing beer is brewed using 100% Quebec ingredients. The grain bill features Modern Pilsner malt from Innomalt and flaked oats from MaltBroue. Bitterness comes from a generous addition of Magnum hops grown by Houblonnière Lupuline, while the aroma is built around Québec-grown Centennial, El Dorado, Vista, and Triumph hops. Finally, our little magician—the Vermont yeast from Labo Solution Brassicole—brings everything together.

We wish you a wonderful tasting experience—proudly brewed with 100% Québec ingredients!

Pairings

Calmer than its big sister (Collines de Bonne IPA du Nord Est), it still delivers a pleasant, fresh bitterness complemented by fruity notes. Although more restrained, its bitterness provides a refreshing contrast to rich, fatty foods and spicy dishes. This Pale Ale pairs beautifully with grilled foods as well as spicy cuisine, whether Asian, Mexican, or American. Its fruity bouquet evokes a variety of fresh, flavorful fruits.
