We wanted to brew a beer which is smooth, playful, and made for summer. A beer with a massive amount of corn to give it exceptional purity and a soft, easy-drinking character. You know that feeling when brewing beer makes you think you’re at a traditional Québec corn roast? A true Mexican-inspired lager, handcrafted with all the love it deserves.

It’s a classic with this style of beer to add lime. After countless attempts to figure out how to fit a lime into a can, we realized we probably had no choice but to add it directly to the brew… But limes don’t grow in Québec! So what happens to our philosophy of using 100% Québec-grown ingredients?

We’ll admit it! After plenty of soul-searching and several attempts to find a local herb that could recreate the character of lime, we came to one simple conclusion: if you want lime flavour, you have to use lime. It’s really that simple.

So, after our Classic Series and our New World Series, both brewed exclusively with Québec ingredients, we’re proud to introduce a brand-new lineup: the Béchar Series.

This series gives our creativity the freedom to explore flavours that simply can’t be achieved using local ingredients alone. In this case: lime. It’s a new creative playground that adds a touch of exotic character to our portfolio.

Our commitment, however, remains the same: to stay as local as possible. The foundation of this beer is built with Pilsner malt from Innomalt, corn malt from Malterie Caux-Laflamme, Magnum hops from Houblonnière Lupuline, Saaz hops from Jarret Noir, and Lager Especial yeast from Labo Solution Brassicole.

This beer is made with 95% Québec ingredients. And the remaining 5%? It still comes from Québec suppliers: dehydrated lime from Anhydra in Drummondville for a bright citrus zest, along with lime purée sourced from ElNova in Rougemont.

The result: 95% Québec ingredients, 100% of our ingredients purchased from Québec suppliers, and 100% brewed with love in Chelsea.
